Ghent University is collaborating with the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to offer PhD and postdoctoral research opportunities for Chinese researchers under a five-year agreement (November 30, 2023 – November 30, 2028). Approximately 50 positions are available annually for full PhD programs, joint PhD degrees, and postdoctoral research.
About the role
Candidates may apply for one of two programs:
- Preference Program: Exemptions from tuition and bench fees, plus a small top-up scholarship.
- Personal Program: Basic study allowances without additional top-up funds (for those who do not qualify for the Preference Program).
Scholarships support disciplines including bioinformatics, computational biology, developmental biology, genetics, and molecular biology.
Requirements
- Chinese nationals with a relevant academic background (last-year Master students, current PhD students, or those already holding a Master degree).
- PhD students must have a confirmed supervisor at Ghent University.
