About the role
The Pharmacy Workflow Technician is responsible for processing incoming referral documentation and completing patient and prescriber registration activities that initiate the patient intake process. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, referral sources, and healthcare providers by ensuring patient information is collected accurately, workflow documentation is complete, and customer inquiries are handled professionally and efficiently. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Receive, identify, and process incoming referral documentation
- Review patient and prescriber information for completeness and accuracy
- Contact referral sources to obtain missing information needed for processing
- Enter and maintain accurate patient information within company systems
- Assign and organize documentation within patient records
- Contact patients to gather information, provide updates, and establish positive customer relationships
- Answer and triage incoming telephone calls
- Document all case activity, communications, and correspondence accurately
- Ensure workflow activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Assist with administrative support activities and workflow-related projects
- Support new employee training as assigned
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality patient service
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer proficiency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical insurance verification experience
