Pharmacy Technician (Weekends)
About the role
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician – Weekends to support our pharmacy operations team in Bellmore, New York. This is a filling-focused role responsible for preparing, filling, labeling, and packaging medications accurately and efficiently. This position plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive high-quality medications in a timely and compliant manner.
Responsibilities
- Fill and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Accurately label, package, and prepare medications for shipment or patient pickup.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of pharmacy workstations and filling areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking and tracking medication supplies.
- Verify prescription information and ensure accuracy before final pharmacist review.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable pharmacy requirements and procedures.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and the operations team to support efficient workflow and turnaround times.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or in a pharmacy filling role.
- Any New York pharmacy technician registration or credential required for the assigned duties must be active and in good standing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
- Familiarity with pharmacy workflows, labeling, and dispensing processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume pharmacy or fulfillment environment.
- Exposure to non-sterile compounding, though it is not required for daily responsibilities.
- Understanding of different medication forms and administration routes.
- Experience in a telehealth or compounding pharmacy environment.
Pay
$24.00–$26.00 per hour
Schedule
Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
