Pharmacy Technician - PRN

About the role

This is a PRN (Part time as needed) position at St. Mary’s Hospital, serving patients upon discharge, St. Mary’s staff, and Athens and the surrounding areas. The primary focus is on Medication to Bed (Mtb).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications
• Manage billing and insurance processes
• Answer phone calls
• Deliver medications to discharge patients
• Maintain inventory
• Operate in accordance with Georgia board of pharmacy, federal laws, and St. Mary’s core values
• Work with the PIC and pharmacy manager to provide the best service to the community
• Perform pharmacy supportive functions requiring advanced technical knowledge, independent judgment, and high accuracy
• Function as the team leader for all technicians at the site
• Meet quality assurance standards and comply with state and regulatory requirements
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of retail pharmacy operations
• Participate in special projects as directed by the pharmacist or department manager
• Support the retail pharmacy department as directed by the pharmacist

Requirements

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy license is strongly preferred
