Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy.
• Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Reports and immediately addresses prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Processes manual claims for third-party program prescription services.
• Supports inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Assists with administrative tasks, including filling prescriptions, maintaining work flow, and interacting with the local medical community.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include a willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred qualifications include six months of experience in a retail environment, prior work experience with Walgreens, good math and computer skills, and PTCB certification.
