Pharmacy Technician - Patient Services Representative

Responsibilities

  • Captures and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient, drug, and disease information.
  • Escalates identified issues to clinicians as necessary.
  • Answers inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintains thorough and appropriate documentation in the patient record.
  • Schedules and coordinates the preparation of IV therapies and home medical equipment orders.
  • Picks and pulls supplies and home medical equipment as directed.
  • Communicates supply inventories to the Pharmacist and documents all communication.
  • Participates in branch management, department, and intra-departmental meetings.
  • Adheres to relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an approved/accredited pharmacy technician training program.
  • IV certification preferred.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of practice.
  • One to three (1-3) years of related pharmacy experience in a home care setting, retail, or pharmacy setting.
  • General knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and aseptic techniques.
  • Effective mathematical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Basic pharmacy knowledge of reading and interpreting prescriptions.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work on-call evenings and weekends.
