Responsibilities
- Captures and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient, drug, and disease information.
- Escalates identified issues to clinicians as necessary.
- Answers inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintains thorough and appropriate documentation in the patient record.
- Schedules and coordinates the preparation of IV therapies and home medical equipment orders.
- Picks and pulls supplies and home medical equipment as directed.
- Communicates supply inventories to the Pharmacist and documents all communication.
- Participates in branch management, department, and intra-departmental meetings.
- Adheres to relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an approved/accredited pharmacy technician training program.
- IV certification preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of practice.
- One to three (1-3) years of related pharmacy experience in a home care setting, retail, or pharmacy setting.
- General knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and aseptic techniques.
- Effective mathematical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Basic pharmacy knowledge of reading and interpreting prescriptions.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work on-call evenings and weekends.
