Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of and compliance with procedures for handling controlled substances and specialty pharmaceuticals including investigational agents.
- Demonstrates skills in the maintenance and operation of various automation systems including packaging, dispensing cabinets, and compounding equipment.
- Packages, dispenses, and labels medications under the supervision of the pharmacist, ensuring accuracy, precision, and consistency.
- Transports medications, drug-delivery devices, and other pharmacy equipment to patient care areas, including automated dispensing technology.
- Prepares inventories, orders drugs and supplies, receives and stocks inventory in various pharmacy locations, and maintains a neat, orderly, and clean dispensing area and medication storeroom.
- Answers telephones using appropriate etiquette, screens, and trisulates inquiries, and ensures work for each shift is completed before departure.
- Utilizes various pharmacy automation systems, including robotic packaging, automated storage and retrieval systems, decentralized unit-based cabinets, and compounding equipment.
- Maintains a sterile environment while accurately compounding sterile products using proper aseptic technique.
- Maintains proper inventory and control of drugs and supplies purchased by the pharmacy.
Requirements
- Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB (Required)
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- Completion of ASHP accredited (or comparable) pharmacy technician training program preferred.

- Equivalent Experience: Hospital Pharmacy Practice

- Full-time - Days - 4 am until 2:30pm - 10 hr. shift days Sun Mon Tue and Wed / OFF Thur Fri and Sat
