Pharmacy Technician III- Specialty (Hybrid)

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician III Certified Retail Specialty performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflow, inventory, billing and other complex pharmacy processes.

Responsibilities

• Receives and transcribes orders, answers phones, and sells prescriptions in order to maintain the pharmacy workflow
• Works directly with pharmacy purchasing agent to maintain inventory
• Serves as a reference for other pharmacy technicians
• Mentors and trains new employees to build knowledge of the job area
• Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 5 years
• Licensure/Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role
