Pharmacy Technician II - South Float

About the role

Greets members at front desk, enters information about prescriptions into computer system, receives payment from members, and prepares medications for approval by pharmacist. May perform the duties of a Pharmacy Inventory Technician or a Pharmacy Admixture Technician. This is a rotating shift. Shifts are 7:30AM - 4PM AND 4PM - 12AM due to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greets members at counter or over the telephone
• Verifies members eligibility status
• Receives prescriptions from members for pharmaceuticals

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician required
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
• Pharmacist Intern License (Virginia) OR Pharmacy Technician License (Virginia) AND Pharmacy Technician Certificate
• Pharmacy Technician License (District of Columbia) within 6 months of hire
• Pharmacy Technician License (Maryland) within 6 months of hire
• Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians from National Healthcareer Association

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, generic drug names, pharmaceutical calculations, and ability to assume responsibility for coordinating drug inventory control in medical clinics
• Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Working knowledge of hospital computer systems
• Working knowledge of hospital related medications
• Data entry and spreadsheet development
• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program or US Military program preferred

Pay

$30.5 - $43.48 / hour

Schedule

Part-time, 24 hours per week. Variable shift working hours start at 7:30 AM and end at 12:00 AM, Sunday through Saturday. Rotating shifts: 7:30AM - 4PM and 4PM - 12AM.
