Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient.
- Gathers, labels and distributes medications accurately and efficiently.
- Packages, prepares and safely compounds medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently.
- Handles, manages and distributes controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies; and assists with drug diversion surveillance.
- Accurately performs the duties of a Tech-Check-Tech Pharmacy Technician if qualified.
- Assists with training new pharmacy staff.
- Assists with maintaining accurate medication inventories and billing of medications.
- Effectively communicates utilizing established systems and processes.
- Performs responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations.
Qualifications
- Completion of an approved vocational Pharmacy Technician training program and at least six months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician; or at least eighteen months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English.
- Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions.
- Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail.
- Proven organizational and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
- Completion of post-secondary education preferred.
- No history of drug abuse or misuse; or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required.
Other Requirements
- Current registration with the Board of Pharmacy where required by state regulation.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification.

Compensation Detail
$22.73 - $32.26 / hour; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
Schedule
Part Time
Hours/Pay Period: PRN
Schedule Details: varied 8hr shifts between the hours of 6:00am and 5:30pm M-F and some weekends.
Weekend Schedule
8hr shifts 6:00am to 2:30pm
