Pharmacy Technician II PRN

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technician II performs functions related to pharmaceutical preparation and distribution under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Duties include non-sterile compounding, stocking automated dispensing cabinets, preparing unit dose drugs, delivering medications to patient care areas, checking medication storage areas for outdated items, and completing billing duties. May also work in an IV room, controlled substance distribution and monitoring, automation, informatics, and medication reconciliation.

Qualifications

• A Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) with a Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA)-issued Pharmacy Technician certificate or a Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA)-issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate.
• If initially hired with a Colorado Board of Pharmacy (DORA) issued Provisional Pharmacy Technician Certificate, must achieve Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or national equivalent) within 12 months of hire date.
• A high school diploma.
• Two years' experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
