Pharmacy Technician II - Pharmacy Dept - Bayfront Hospital

Operational and Distribution Responsibilities

• Operates Orlando Health software and hardware systems related to Pharmacy Technician functions
• Utilizes resources and departments for customer service and patient care
• Operates equipment required for pharmacy procedures
• Performs basic Pharmacy Technician procedures
• Performs basic drug procurement procedures
• Aids Pharmacist in medication distribution, including aseptic techniques and automated dispensing cabinet tasks
• Maintains USP 797 standards and regulatory documentation
• Maintains safe handling and disposal of medications

Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of safety, emergency, and risk management procedures
• Knowledge of hospital mission, personnel policies, and pharmacy department processes
• Familiarity with general pharmacy duties and processes
• Ability to identify and utilize appropriate resources and departments for customer service and patient care
• Advanced expertise in specialized practice areas as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy
• Greater than one year of experience as a pharmacy technician
