About the role
As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. You will participate in providing patient specific care standards as directed and follow service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare IVs, IVPBs, chemotherapy medications using exceptional aseptic technique and efficiently manage the IV room workflow during the shift as assigned
- Accurately select, charges/credits, and prepare medications for patients, dispensing machines, floor stock, and crash carts. Investigates reasons for missing meds prior to replacement
- Consistently perform accurate and timely delivery of medications/IVs and floor stock
- Consistently complete required monitoring and documentation of assigned functions (examples: temperature logs, expired medication checks, shift duties, cleaning logs)
- Consistently assist with inventory control of pharmaceuticals and supplies
- Perform drug distribution duties as appropriate
Schedule
Monday - Friday with rotating weekends; 11p-7:30a
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: One year of hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician and/or enrolled in undergraduate Pharmacy program - preferred
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Sterile Products (IV) Certification through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP)
