Pharmacy Technician II

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician II assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and is accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician II follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Be accountable to the supervising pharmacist for patient care and safety.
• Follow applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work, including fingerprints for FBI background check).
• Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
• Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.
