Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will fill prescriptions for patients admitted to the hospital. Your typical duties include preparing medicine, stocking supplies, and collecting patient information. You may also be asked to create compound medications and IV fluids.

You will be responsible for maintaining medication storage and security as per regulatory requirements throughout the organization. You will interact daily with hospital personnel in person and by phone. You will need to identify and solve problems with pharmacy automation with or without technical support.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Completion of pharmacy technician training program
  • Licensure by California State Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician
  • 1 year previous experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Successful completion of Technician Certification Exam
  • Continued recognition as Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
