Pharmacy Technician II
About the Role
Assists the clinical pharmacists in providing an accurate and timely medication distribution system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire date, and registration must be in good standing (“active”).
- National certification with PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT (Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians) required upon hire. Failure to obtain certification by the deadline will result in termination of employment.
- Exception: Non-certified employees accepted for admission to a school of pharmacy (proof required) may remain in the role past the certification deadline and apply for a pharmacy intern position. Must provide an intern license by the end of the first academic semester of pharmacy school or face termination.
- For initial PTCB certification, a paper result of “pass” will be considered active status for 30 days.
- For PTCB renewal, “active” status must be attained within 30 days of the current certification’s expiration (30-day grace period).

- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
- Proficiency in basic math applications and analyses.
