We are currently seeking energetic and dependable pharmacy technicians for our Portland, ME Mail Order Pharmacy. This is a full-time position in a fast-paced, growing business looking to expand our operations in the Greater Portland area.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist, with routine quality control checks.
  • Reads and interprets veterinarian orders, transcribing them onto a pharmacy computer medication profile.
  • Prepares compounds and prescriptions under direct pharmacist supervision and in accordance with pharmacy law and standards.
  • Checks and removes outdated medications routinely to ensure no deteriorated meds are in stock.
  • Maintains appropriate records.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • State of Maine Pharmacy Technician license required.
  • Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • CPhT Certification preferred.
  • Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measurement correctly and consistently.
  • Operate a calculator and computer software proficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to retain information readily.
  • Read, comprehend, and translate regulations and laws into understandable instructions.
  • Professional verbal communication with coworkers, shareholders, and other contacts.
  • Function effectively as a team player.
  • Knowledge of compounding principles, theories, laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Exhibit punctuality and low absenteeism.
  • Knowledge of mail order pharmacy preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Read reports and computer screens.
  • Hear well enough to communicate with colleagues.
  • Walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Operate computer and telephone.
  • Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekends on occasion.
