PHARMACY TECHNICIAN I (ON-CALL)

About the role

A Pharmacy Technician I performs technical functions and related pharmacy duties, including activities related to procuring, storing, and distributing pharmaceutical and pharmacy products across all pharmacy locations.

Responsibilities

• Procures, stores, and distributes pharmacy merchandise in accordance with legal requirements.
• Verifies patient information following established procedures.
• Types and fills prescriptions in accordance with legal requirements using the pharmacy computer operating system in a high-output setting.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area and environment.
• Assists in maintaining inventory records, taking inventories, placing orders, and receiving drugs and supplies.
• Establishes and maintains courteous and cooperative relationships with peers, patients, other personnel, and the public.
• Operates a cash register in a high-volume setting.
• Interviews patients to obtain information regarding drug use, pertinent patient details, drug allergies, and sensitivities.
• Covers all clinic pharmacy locations as needed.
• Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.

Requirements

• Valid license as a pharmacy technician from the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Must follow guidelines established by the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to cover all pharmacy locations.

Qualifications

• Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin), Vietnamese, Spanish, or other languages may be required depending on location.
• Fluency in additional languages is an asset.

Status

This is an FLSA Non-exempt, OSHA high-risk, on-call position.
