About the role
Supports Cleveland Clinic's high-volume home delivery pharmacy in Beachwood, helping ensure patients receive their medications safely, accurately, and on time. Working in a fast-paced, assembly line-style environment, this role fills and packages prescriptions, receives and stocks medication shipments, replenishes supplies, operates pharmacy automation and Pyxis technology, and prepares medications for shipment directly to patients. Additional responsibilities include inventory management, warehouse support, and the use of equipment such as pallet jacks to maintain efficient workflow. Responsibilities
- Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.
- Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.
- Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.
- Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over-the-counter items.
- Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.
- Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription areas, and remove expiring products.
- Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Upon hire, must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA).
- Upon hire, must hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
- Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months of hospital experience
- Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, and sitting for prolonged times.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending, and reaching.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Schedule
Rotating day shifts between 7:00am to 5:30pm (10-hour shift), 7:00am to 3:30pm, or 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday shifts may be required based on departmental needs.
Pay
Pay range minimum hourly: $21.50. Maximum hourly: $31.00. The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $2,500.
