Pharmacy Technician - Full Time / Evenings - Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience

Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Prepares drug orders from Physicians for review and dispensing by a Registered Pharmacist.
• Replenishes all Pyxis machines.
• Makes sure refrigerator temperatures are correct when filling and records any necessary corrective actions.
• Informs the Pharmacy Manager of any ongoing issues.
• Counts, compounds, and repackages pharmaceuticals using established procedures.
• Dispenses and distributes medications to patient areas, restocks pharmacy inventory, restocks inventory in department and nursing units, evaluates stock for expired medications, performs necessary monitoring and documentation, picks up physician orders from team centers, performs light housekeeping duties, replenishes specialty and code carts, documents restocking of carts through a sign out sheet, transports IVs to the nursing floor, maintains competencies related to IV lab, Pyxis, McKesson Automation and CAPS, reviews and completes assigned inspections every other month, and maintains all competencies required by the department and the hospital.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma/GED.
• RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania.
