Omnicare is a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities nationwide, supporting skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. Following the sale of Omnicare by CVS Health, this role will support Omnicare’s continued operations as an independent, standalone organization. The individual hired into this role will be employed by Omnicare and will contribute to shaping the future of our organization during this exciting period of growth and transformation.

About the role

As a Front End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, you will perform order entry tasks and collaborate with other team members in the medication dispensing process at our closed-door pharmacy. Our front-end team focuses on entering orders, working alongside the pharmacist to ensure accuracy, and providing best-in-class customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Triaging customer service requests by department, urgency, and information/response required
  • Calculating and/or verifying correct dosage based on prescriptions
  • Assisting in reviewing narcotic prescriptions to ensure timely returns
  • Providing the dispensing pharmacist with information regarding allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other computer-flagged items
  • Creating and maintaining accurate customer records

Requirements

  • Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the long-term care industry
  • PTCB National Certification

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 - $28.46 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

  • Full time
  • 40 hours per week
