Omnicare is a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities nationwide, supporting skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. Following the sale of Omnicare by CVS Health, this role will support Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization. The individual hired will be employed by Omnicare and will contribute to shaping the future of the organization during this period of growth and transformation.

About the role

As a Front End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, you will perform order entry tasks and collaborate with other team members in the medication dispensing process at our closed-door pharmacy. Our front-end team focuses on entering orders, working alongside the pharmacist to ensure accuracy, and providing best-in-class customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and information/response required
  • Calculate and/or verify correct dosage based on prescriptions
  • Assist in reviewing narcotic prescriptions to ensure timely returns
  • Provide the dispensing pharmacist with information regarding allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other computer-flagged items
  • Create and maintain accurate customer records

Requirements

  • Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law
  • One (1) or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the long-term care industry
  • PTCB National Certification

Schedule

  • Full time
  • 40 anticipated weekly hours

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 - $25.65 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant considerations.
