Pharmacy Technician - Data Entry

Schedule

Regular Schedule: 4 weekdays (1:30pm–10pm) and 1 weekend day (11am–7:30pm), with rotating days off.

Training Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts between 9am–7:30pm.

Pay

$22 – $24 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Enter new and refill prescriptions into the operating system accurately and timely to eliminate errors at dispensing.
• Triage incoming fax prescriptions to ensure timely dispensing.
• Ensure proper notes in the computer and cycle fill coding.
• Calculate and/or verify the correct dosage based on the prescription.
• Demonstrate caring, understanding, and courtesy when responding to calls from customers; route calls appropriately to ensure top-level service.
• Ensure all prescriptions assigned for processing are completed during the regular shift.
• Receive, evaluate, process, and follow up as needed with doctors’ offices on all refills assigned.
• Develop proficiency in the utilization of all pharmacy systems (e.g., document imaging, legacy pharmacy computer operating system).
• Assist with filing completed orders, packaging medications, inventory, profiling orders for medical records, and filling processed prescriptions as needed.
• Develop and learn the cycle to meet delivery deadlines.
• Maintain data entry records for cycle medication, fill requests, and process cycle medication orders needing renewal, in addition to new cycle orders.
• Perform other essential functions and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (per state requirements).
• California Pharmacy Technician License required; National Certification (PTCB) preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience).
• Long-term care pharmacy experience and Framework experience a plus.
