Responsibilities
- Greet all prescription center customers and provide them with exemplary customer service and assistance while maintaining customer/patient confidentiality
- Direct contact with third parties to resolve insurance issues
- Prepare prescribed medications by counting tablets, labeling bottles, and restock inventory
- Calculate and measure medication
- Verify prescriptions
- Participate in the fulfillment process and prescription center support responsibilities
- Ensure the proper flow and documentation of prescription fulfillment is followed at all times
- Maintain patient profiles/records and prepare insurance forms
- Maintain appropriate drug and supply levels
- Maintain quality assurance standards and maintenance of required documentation
- Complete prescription center paperwork, maintain daily/weekly/monthly reports
- Completes additional projects and tasks assigned by Supervisor(s)
Requirements
- Active Pharmacy Technician license, registration, or certification in the applicable state at the time of hire (where required by state law)
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a high-volume retail pharmacy environment
- Experience with prescription fulfillment, medication dispensing workflows, and inventory management
- Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and pharmacy billing processes
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively assist patients and address inquiries
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and electronic health record (EHR) platforms
- Experience with PharmaServ or similar pharmacy dispensing software strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and patient safety
- Ability to work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and operational teams
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional pharmacy-related education or training preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting physician-dispensed medication programs or in-office prescription centers
- Experience working in a dermatology, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare practice setting
- Familiarity with medication inventory controls, regulatory compliance requirements, and patient assistance programs
