Pharmacy Technician/ Billing Specialist

Knowledge of the information and techniques related to pharmaceutical operations and dispensing medicines.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand and to comprehend information presented by others.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service to veterans and their families, including medication management and billing tasks.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as insurance verification and claims processing.
• Ensure accurate and timely medication distribution according to patient needs and medical guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure proper medication usage and patient education.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to maintain competency in pharmacy operations and customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification is required.
• Active licensure is a condition of employment.
• Must meet all requirements for maintaining license.
• Experience in long term care or adult geriatric setting is a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

• A valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician License.
• Current CPR certification.
