Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group's family of businesses, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the mental health pharmacy. Working as part of a coordinated care team, you'll partner with community-based providers to ensure people with complex health conditions get the right medications and can follow their treatment plans. This role involves dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Schedule & location

• Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, Full-Time; 40 hours
• No Nights or Weekends
• Location: 329 Bath Rd, Suite P, Brunswick, Maine 04011

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
• Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist
• Order, receive and store incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Work with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
• Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Delivery of medications
• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications

• Active and unrestricted license in the state of Maine or the ability to obtain within 14 days of offer accepted and prior to start date
• Access to reliable transportation

Preferred qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience

Pay & benefits

Competitive base pay with a full and comprehensive benefit program. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment, with actual pay dependent on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
