Description
The Retail Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, manage billing and insurance processes, answer phone calls, deliver medications to discharge patients, and maintain inventory.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications
- Manage billing and insurance processes
- Answer phone calls

- Maintain inventory
- Operate in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Georgia board of pharmacy, federal laws, and the core values of St. Mary’s
- Work with the PIC and pharmacy manager to ensure the best service is offered to our community
- Perform pharmacy supportive functions requiring advanced level of technical knowledge, independent judgment, and a high degree of accuracy
- Function as the team leader for all technicians at that site
- Demonstrate performance that consistently meets quality assurance standards, complies with state and regulatory requirements, and assumes responsibility for all aspects of retail pharmacy operations
- Participate in any special projects designated by the pharmacist or department manager
- Support the retail pharmacy department at the direction of the pharmacist
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred.
