PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Description

The Retail Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, manage billing and insurance processes, answer phone calls, deliver medications to discharge patients, and maintain inventory.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications
• Manage billing and insurance processes
• Answer phone calls
• Deliver medications to discharge patients
• Maintain inventory
• Operate in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Georgia board of pharmacy, federal laws, and the core values of St. Mary’s
• Work with the PIC and pharmacy manager to ensure the best service is offered to our community
• Perform pharmacy supportive functions requiring advanced level of technical knowledge, independent judgment, and a high degree of accuracy
• Function as the team leader for all technicians at that site
• Demonstrate performance that consistently meets quality assurance standards, complies with state and regulatory requirements, and assumes responsibility for all aspects of retail pharmacy operations
• Participate in any special projects designated by the pharmacist or department manager
• Support the retail pharmacy department at the direction of the pharmacist

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred.
