Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary

The Data Entry Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service and accurately and timely billing of compounded preparations based on patient-specific prescriptions.

Job Activities and Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of patient information and receive patient payment
• Check prescriptions for completeness and enter necessary information into the computer to generate a prescription label and invoices (if necessary)
• Communicate with prescribers to receive refill authorization, receive patient refills by telephone, direct calls, or take and relay messages
• Work under the supervision of a pharmacist and the departmental manager
• Maintain an organized and efficient workspace
• Investigate incidences and variances as needed, document variances as needed, and resolve issues
• Help with large account orders (cross-trained)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• A High School Diploma is preferred
• Must be a Stated Licensed Pharmacy Technician to perform fulfillment or compounding activities
• Excellent work ethic, including a personal drive to excel independently
• Solid PC skills including Microsoft software
• Certified Technician is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
• Moving, lifting, or carrying boxes
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Fine motor skills
• Visual acuity
