Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is a pharmacy care services company focused on behavioral health and addiction treatment. The Pharmacy Technician supports the mental health and specialty pharmacy by dispensing prescriptions, performing clerical duties, and ensuring compliance under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm EST (lunch 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm EST)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to consumers and clinic staff
• Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the Registered Pharmacist
• Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Assist the Pharmacist in pharmacy functions and maintain compliance with federal and state requirements
• Perform various clerical duties related to the department
• Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician Trainee License and ability to obtain the Pharmacy Technician license in Massachusetts within 30 days of hire
• Access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $16 to $29 per hour based on local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and other factors. The company complies with all applicable minimum wage laws.
