About the role
Supports pharmacists in the daily operations of the pharmacy.
- Package medications according to standard procedures including blister cards, unit dose packaging, compliance packaging, and vial fill.
- Assists with maintenance of an adequate inventory of medications and other supplies.
- Prepares compounds per physician’s order under supervision of a pharmacist.
- Labels prescriptions accurately, including informational labels, e.g. cautionary and auxiliary labels.
- Prepares medication for delivery to customers.
- Assists in maintenance and documentation of appropriate environmental controls in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Adhere to HIPAA and FDA regulations and also maintain a clean and safe pharmacy environment.
- Strives for compliance by all staff with internal controls and state and federal regulations.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet one of the following:
- Be a Registered Pharmacy Technician, a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or willingness to become registered as a Technician Trainee with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy
- Be at least 16 years of age
