Pharmacy Technician

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician provides assistance to the Pharmacist staff in all daily duties while complying with State and Federal laws and Pharmacy policies and procedures. These duties include providing courteous service, maintaining a clean and orderly appearance of the pharmacy area, collecting and entering patient information into QS1, interpreting prescription orders and their preparation. The technician also manages incoming telephone calls, providing necessary information, or directing them to the appropriate staff. Other duties include managing inventory levels, placing orders with wholesalers, and maintaining appropriate cash controls and internal/external billing.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous service to patients and staff
• Maintains a clean and orderly appearance of the pharmacy area
• Collects and enters patient information into QS1
• Interprets prescription orders and prepares them for dispensing
• Manages incoming telephone calls, providing necessary information, or directing them to the appropriate staff
• Manages inventory levels, places orders with wholesalers, and maintains appropriate cash controls and internal/external billing

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy experience required
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician II required

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in and support a diverse and inclusive environment

• Remain up to date on required trainings: HIPAA, FWA, PCI-DSS, Blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste training
