About the role
The Pharmacy Technician at the Central Fulfillment Center is responsible for working in a closed-door, fast-paced pharmacy facility on a production line, filling prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The role involves working with prescription filling automation technologies and semi-manual/manual workstations to ensure accuracy and maintain workflow. The position is based in Irving, TX.
Schedule
- Full-time, morning shift
- Sunday and Wednesday: 6:15 AM to 2:45 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Other days as needed
Responsibilities
- Follow and promote proper Pharmacy, general safety, and security procedures.
- Use scanning and counting technologies to identify and select appropriate pharmaceutical products and quantities for filling prescription orders.
- Ensure medication counting devices are continuously replenished.
- Assist with maintaining pharmacy systems and technologies for counting, conveyance, packaging, and shipping of prescriptions.
- Monitor inventory and supply levels, calibrate machines, troubleshoot routine errors (jams, blockages), and escalate technical issues.
- Maintain uptime of automated counting, collating, packaging, and sorting devices through basic troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain documentation as requested.
- Manually fill prescriptions as needed, verifying product attributes such as size, strength, and quantity.
- Enter or scan expiration dates and lot numbers, ensuring correct prescription labels.
- Prepare packages, sort, and manifest prescription orders if needed.
- Stock and rotate merchandise and supplies to limit shrinkage.
- Assist Inventory Technicians and participate in Inventory Audits as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.

- Pharmacy Technician License in Texas.
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications
- Preferred: National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Preferred: Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Prefers to work in a closed-door environment (no adjudication, customer interaction, or phone work).
- Good computer and math skills.
Skills
- Technical proficiency with pharmacy automation technologies.
- Basic troubleshooting of routine machine errors.
- Manual and automated prescription filling.
- Inventory monitoring and management.
Physical Requirements
- Willing and able to stand/walk at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Able to perform tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, rotating, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Consistent visual focus for counting and observing tasks.
