About the role

The Pharmacy Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate information
  • Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor’s offices to resolve claims issues
  • Processing prescriptions (from intake to order completion)
  • Resolving customer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided
  • Navigate computer system to review and confirm prescriptions orders and information ensuring that automated fulfillment is correct
  • Manually dispenses orals, liquid medications and medical supplies according to standard procedures and protocols
  • Maintain dispensing units ensuring they are filled with correct products, returns products that are no longer valid due to recalls, supply issues, etc.
  • This includes maintaining proper inventory and storage of drug by filling dispensing units and monitoring and adjusting pharmacy equipment.
  • Process, pack or ship pharmacy orders to include the counting and dispensing of medications, accurate labeling and packing in appropriate manner for shipment within the required time frames
  • Bring in packages from the receiving dock area
  • Aid with inventory management/replenishment as directed by the Pharmacist(s)
  • Utilize Valeris’ values as the driving force behind the team’s success
  • On time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures
  • Ensure all SOPs are followed with consistency
  • Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned

  • Possess current KY pharmacy tech license or ability to obtain license within the first week of start date
  • Retail or Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
  • High School Diploma Required

Physical Demands

The job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
