  • Deliver additional patient health‑care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, off‑site clinics) where allowed by law and supported by required training.
  • When permitted, support immunizations by:
    • Obtaining Technician Immunizer status through additional licensure and training.
    • Preparing and administering vaccines.

    • Monitoring for adverse reactions and reporting them per public‑health requirements.
    • Reviewing, collecting, tracking, and documenting patient information related to vaccinations.
    • Managing vaccine supplies.

Required Qualifications

  • Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice (age, education, licensure/certification).
  • Minimum age of 16 years if not otherwise mandated by the state board.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in a high‑school/equivalency program if no minimum education is mandated.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

Essential Functions

  • Regular and predictable attendance, including weekends.
  • Complete required training within designated timeframes.
  • Maintain attention and focus to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs.
  • Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide friendly, helpful customer service and respond appropriately to patient reactions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; active listening.
  • Mathematical reasoning for dosage calculations and inventory counts.
  • Problem resolution for challenging patient or colleague interactions.
  • Physical demands: remain upright for extended periods, lift/scan/bag items, reach overhead, perform repetitive finger motions, stoop, and lift up to 20 lb occasionally; maintain close visual acuity for computer terminals and small‑part inspection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
  • Willingness to work in the home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.
