Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense inpatient medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Verify medication orders, check for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare IV admixtures and sterile products following safety protocols.
- Adhere to regulatory and quality assurance standards for inpatient pharmacy.
- Monitor and address medication safety issues and reporting adverse events.
- Maintain accurate medication inventory and manage stock levels.
- Document all dispensing activities in electronic health records with precision.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to optimize patient care.
- Participate in continuous learning to stay updated on new therapies and guidelines.
- Support performance metrics by accurately recording turnaround times and throughput.
- Aid in workflow optimization to improve efficiency and patient flow.
Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician with inpatient hospital experience.
- Accurate medication order verification and discrepancy resolution.
- Sterile compounding for IV admixtures with GMP/safety compliance.
- Adhere to regulatory standards (JCAHO, USP 797/800) and QA processes.
- Monitor medication safety, report adverse events promptly.
- Document dispensing activities in electronic health records with precision.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate inventory and manage stock levels for inpatient needs.
- Commit to continuous learning on new therapies and guidelines.
- Support and track performance metrics (turnaround times, throughput).
- Contribute to workflow optimization and patient flow improvements.
