Position Summary
Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and managing pharmacy operations.
What you'll do...
- Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
- Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise.
- Maintains the Pharmacy area by handling claims and returns, utilizing equipment for merchandising functions, and completing paperwork.
- Maintains prescription fulfillment by processing third-party insurance claims, scanning images, and alerting patients to inventory issues.
- Promotes and maintains the Pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting the pharmacist in prescription fulfillment, processing insurance claims, and providing patient assistance.
- Enters prescription data into pharmacy software, reads prescriptions, and creates or modifies patient records.
- Fills prescriptions by retrieving orders, counting, pouring, measuring, or weighing medications, and operating scanning equipment.
- Provides member assistance during prescription pickup by verifying information, scanning security tags, and logging sales of restricted pharmaceutical items.
- Completes work assignments by following policies, data, and resources, and adapting to changes.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards by acting with integrity, supporting the Open Door Policy, and fostering a culture of belonging.
- Serves customers and members by delivering results, balancing short and long-term priorities, and considering the impact on team performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB/PTCE or NHA/ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software and systems.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay and Schedule
The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00*. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
