Job Description

New pharmaceutical distribution warehouse for Northwestern Medicine
Hours: 40 hours/week
Schedule: Currently this is day shift hours, but as time goes on, the center will be extending hours into the evening and will require flexibility to work variable shifts

Responsibilities

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Ensures fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions in an automated central fill pharmacy in order to maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to meet daily production and quality goals by using the scanner to identify and select pharmaceutical product and quantity for prescription orders.
  • Utilize automated repackaging system for unit dose from bulk product; maintain label requirements of each unit dose, expiration date management, and storage requirements maintenance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or NHA required for all licensed after 2008 (within 6 months of hire or sooner if required by IL pharmacy practice act)

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Will occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance
  • Must be able to stand up majority of the workday
  • Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing
  • Will be exposed to chemical hazards; therefore, must have the ability to wear protective clothing as needed
