What You Will Do

  • Adopts the Challenger sales model; a sales methodology that focuses on teaching customers about the value of a product or service while also challenging their assumptions and beliefs.
  • Serves as the pharmacy team’s first line of triage and subject matter expert for medication access and affordability needs including prior authorizations (PA), PA appeals, copay assistance, rx billing issues with the pharmacy, med synchronization, and home delivery.
  • Provides ongoing education on medication access and affordability tools and resources.
  • Connects uninsured or underinsured to an eligibility expert to explore assistance that best fits the patient’s needs.
  • Connects patients to a pharmacist for consultation; performs reminder phone calls and appointment rescheduling as necessary.
  • Provides patients with a direct line of communication with provider and pharmacy staff.
  • Provides emotional and social support to help patients access financial and social resources within the organization.
  • Accepts new prescriptions and ensures all necessary information, including insurance verification, is available to process orders.
  • Explains all company programs and services to patients and physician’s office staff.
  • Communicates with patients as needed based on prescription refills and refers any medication or illness-related questions or concerns to a board-licensed healthcare professional including but not limited to: nurses, pharmacists, or supervised pharmacy interns.
  • Schedules prescription refills within the pharmacy software.
  • Contacts patients to schedule deliveries, confirm addresses, inform of any co-payments involved, and notify of payment responsibilities.
  • Assists with prior authorizations.
  • Refers under or uninsured patients to appropriate patient assistance programs and helps with applications.
  • Communicates patient status to physician’s offices/clinics.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Utilizes operating systems and tools to help manage patient therapy and refill compliance.

Requirements

A certified pharmacy technician with National Certification such as PTCB or NHA AND TN Pharmacy Tech License.
