About the role
Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist in all aspects of the medication preparation and distribution processes. Duties include preparation of medications for distribution to automatic dispensing cabinets, repackaging into unit‑dose blister packs, various medication inventory functions, and participation in the documentation of medication histories of patients at the point of admission.
Responsibilities
- Consistently adheres to Butler Hospital service standards.
- Assists pharmacist in performing routine duties in the hospital pharmacy.
- Prepares medications for distribution to automatic dispensing cabinets.
- Repackages medications into unit‑dose blister packs.
- Performs various medication inventory functions.
- Documents medication histories of patients at admission.
- Observes all general hospital policies, guiding principles, and rules and regulations.
Requirements
- Education: High school graduate.
- Training and Experience: Preferably a graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
Qualifications
- Must have a Rhode Island Pharmacist Technician II license.
Skills
- Proficiency in math.
- Typing skills.
- Computer literacy.
Schedule
40/80 Full Time evenings, Monday‑Friday.
