About the role

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Full‑time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician (40 hours per week). The 525‑bed tertiary care facility houses the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School, and offers specialized services including heart and vascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, women’s health, and a state‑of‑the‑art neonatal intensive care unit.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
