Pharmacy Tech I
Description
SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to various customers by verifying the medication packaging process and outcomes. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Must be licensed Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy, based on the state worked.
- National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) preferred with under 3 years’ experience.
What You Will Do
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.
- Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
- Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Understands the limitations to performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remains within the scope of practice.
- Transports medications to patient rooms or nursing medication rooms.
- Retrives unused medications from patient rooms or nursing areas.
