Pharmacy Tech Educator
About the role
Join Us as a Pharmacy Technician Educator - Inpatient Pharmacy at Foundation Health Partners. You'll blend hands-on technical skill with teaching, mentorship, and system-wide impact. This role shapes the next generation of pharmacy technicians, strengthens inpatient pharmacy operations, and grows your leadership and educator skillset.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and participate in the training of pharmacy technician apprentices, dispensing, preparation, and/or specialist pharmacy technicians.
- Teach Pharmacists Technical skills within the scope of practice limitations for an Alaska Board of Pharmacy Licensed Pharmacy Tech.
- Ensure seamless orientation of new and/or transferring pharmacy staff with oversight and influence of the orientation experience.
- Support and develop staff including preceptors, apprentices, and experienced pharmacy technicians.
- Develop and implement strategic workforce learning and development services to support the achievement of workforce goals, quality initiatives, and pharmacy practice.
- Critically assess plans, develop, and deliver pharmacy curriculum, developmental programs, and services.
- Evaluate staff competency in coordination with pharmacy leadership.
- Provide specific, ongoing, and timely feedback to employees.
- Hold staff and colleagues accountable for their performance.
- Lead and participate on assigned committees and teams.
- Perform routine duties in packaging, distribution, and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies as a function of 11 training.
- Provide excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.
Requirements
- Pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice.
- Pharmacy technician certification required.
- Three (3) or more years of experience performing in a pharmacy technician role.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and computer technology skills.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- The ability to take initiative, solve problems, and improve processes.
- Utilize computer programs for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.

Benefits
Compensation: $28.47 to $44.49 hourly wage based on experience and education. Additional Pay: Shift Differential, Annual Increases, Paid Time Off. Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, 401k with employer match. Education Benefits: FHP Tuition Assistance. Other Benefits: Onsite Gym, Wellness Programs, Discount programs. Shift: Full-time (40 hours/week) with Variable 4 x 10-hour shifts. Varied schedule includes rotating morning/day shifts, evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts. Shift Differentials: $2.00/hr. Weekend- $2.50/hr. Evening - $6.00/hr. Night.
