Job Summary
Responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and documentation of oral medications in a clinical setting. This role supports physicians and staff by maintaining medication inventory, processing prescriptions, and ensuring regulatory compliance per Arizona State Board of Pharmacy standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of medications for daily pharmacy and mix room operations
- Maintain accurate counts and secure storage of oral medications per OSHA regulations
- Fill prescriptions based on physician orders
- Process oral medication before authorizations
- Complete Foundation Assistance applications
- Perform regular inventory checks and ensure proper stock levels
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Travel between AUUA offices as needed to meet operational demands
- Ensure compliance with all guidelines related to the role of a Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Support additional tasks or site-specific responsibilities as assigned by management
Required Education & Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – in good standing with the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage last-minute changes and dynamic clinic needs
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must regularly talk, hear, and use hands for handling or operating tools
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, kneel, or crouch throughout the workday
- Must use PPE and comply with OSHA safety requirements
- Moderate noise level work environment
- Visual requirements include near and far vision, color recognition, and depth perception
