Pharmacy Tech 1 - SV Retail Pharmacy - PRN
About the role
Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, will assist in the non-judgmental aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, and assist in retail pharmacy operations. Will provide services to patients from birth to death.
Responsibilities
- Properly use dispensing and bar coding technology to ensure accurate medication selection, counting, labeling, and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, prescribers, and other team members across the health system; this includes in-person, telephonic, and written communication.
- Triage calls/patients/tasks in appropriate order of priority.
- Dispense prescriptions to patients, using point-of-sale system, ensuring appropriate collection of payment.
- Check medication outdates monthly for any assigned areas.
- When required, prepare simple non-sterile compounds at the direction of a pharmacist.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED Required.
- 1 year Pharmacy technician or healthcare experience.
Preferred Skills And Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Licenses and Certifications
- Registration with Kansas Board of Pharmacy prior to first day of work is required.
- National Technician Certification through agency recognized by Kansas Board of Pharmacy is required prior to the first registration renewal and maintained continuously.
