Pharmacy Student Intern

About the role

Park Nicollet is seeking a Student Intern to join the Methodist Hospital Pharmacy team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the care and experience of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and prepare medications and supplies for patients, patient care areas, and ancillary departments.
• Aid the pharmacist in processing outpatient prescriptions, receiving, stocking, and reordering medications and supplies.
• Handle cash register transactions and prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Deliver medications and assist the pharmacist as needed.
• For third or fourth-year pharmacy students, assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with hospice chart review.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited professional pharmacy program.
• Valid driver's license and meets Park Nicollet's motor vehicle violation criteria.
• Registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern (second through fourth year intern).

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer skills and familiarity with office software programs.
• Knowledge of automated dispensing products.

Schedule

The position requires one evening a week and every 4th weekend.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle violation criteria. Must be registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern (second through fourth year intern).

Skills

Computer skills and familiarity with office software programs are desirable. Knowledge of automated dispensing products is desirable.
