About the role
This position is responsible for the administrative and clinical duties related to the operation of the pharmacy in accordance with federal and state law, JCAHO standards, and the facility’s philosophies, goals, and objectives. The incumbent must be able to train and oversee day-to-day activities of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy residents, interns, students, and clerks, as well as the oversight of pharmacy interns, students, and technicians for accuracy as it relates to regulatory compliance, and coordination of workload.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all facility required training including OLA’s are completed by staff.
- Manage and coordinate the work of the department, including scheduling, technician involvement, and workload management.
- Provide input to the Pharmacy Manager regarding recommendations and suggestions for enhancing department productivity.
- Review and evaluate pharmacy activities for efficiency and flow improvements.
- Maintain awareness of technological advances in hospital pharmacy and proficiency in communication.
- Lead staff meetings, pharmacist meetings, and other related activities.
- Assist and provide recommendations to the Pharmacy Manager regarding yearly budget.
- Participate in interview processes and make recommendations for employment.
- Serve on committees as appointed by the Director.
- Maintain Quality Improvement program.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy, Pharm.D. preferred.
- Two years of managerial experience in a retail pharmacy preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Pharmacist license.
- Board certification is preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word.
- Typing: 30 wpm.
