About the role
Provide professional pharmacy services, including filling prescriptions, counseling patients and supervising pharmacy technicians. Ensure all services comply with professional standards and applicable statutes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Filling prescriptions
- Counseling patients
- Supervising pharmacy technicians
- Ensuring compliance with professional standards and statutes/regulations
- Providing friendly and efficient customer service
- Interpreting prescriptions and entering data into the computer system
- Administering immunizations under defined protocols
- Maintaining patient profiles
- Monitoring inventory levels
- Performing daily operational duties
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations
- Maintaining merchandise, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention and maintenance
- Reporting illegal activity
- Complying with and reinforcing food safety, sanitation and safety regulations
Requirements
- Effective interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and pleasant working/shopping environment
- Sound judgment/decision-making skills
- Confidentiality of information
- Strong math skills (calculate discounts, proportions, percentages)
- Basic algebra and geometry skills (calculate circumferences, volume)
- Adequate physical abilities to perform tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 25 lbs, and using close vision, depth perception, and adjusting eye focus
Qualifications
- Minimum Board of Pharmacy license
- APHA Immunization Certified
