Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Order Entry Technician to join our 503A compounding pharmacy team. This position is responsible for accurately entering prescription orders, preparing medications for pharmacist verification, maintaining workflow efficiency, and providing exceptional support to the pharmacy team.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Florida.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail, specialty, mail-order, or compounding pharmacy.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacists and other team members.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter prescription orders into the pharmacy management system.
  • Review prescriptions for completeness and communicate with pharmacists regarding missing or unclear information.
  • Prepare and fill prescriptions for pharmacist verification, including counting, measuring, labeling, packaging, and organizing medications.
  • Process prescription refills and assist with workflow management.
  • Verify medication stock and notify appropriate personnel of inventory shortages.
  • Ensure all prescription labels and documentation are accurate prior to pharmacist review.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, pharmacy policies, and quality standards.
  • Assist with inventory organization, stocking shelves and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients and healthcare providers with routine requests within the technician scope of practice.
  • Support pharmacists with daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity required for prescription preparation and computer work.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

About the Role

This role does not perform sterile compounding but plays a critical role in ensuring prescriptions are processed accurately and efficiently.
