Pharmacy IV Tech

About the role

Inpatient pharmacy technicians maintain medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging, and delivery of medications. They may prepare IV medications and ensure an optimal environment for the preparation and storage of medications. They assist pharmacists in meeting all regulatory compliance requirements.

The Pharmacy Technician II has broader responsibilities, including verifying correct medication selection for automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) refill functions and assisting in the training and education of other technicians. This role fulfills all responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician I.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging, and delivery of medications
• Prepare IV medications
• Maintain an optimal environment for medication preparation and storage
• Assist pharmacists in meeting regulatory compliance requirements
• Verify correct medication selection for automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) refill functions
• Assist in the training and education of other pharmacy technicians

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Registered Pharmacy Intern in Florida or Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida (required)
• 6 months of technician experience in a relevant practice area (required)

Qualifications

• High School Graduate with at least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience (preferred)
• One or more years of pharmacy technician experience (preferred)
