Pharmacy Inventory Specialist

About the role

Purchases pharmaceuticals needed in the VTH pharmacy, responsible for inventory and financial management for the pharmacy. Requires knowledge of veterinary pharmaceuticals to interact closely with VTH members as well as vendors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Purchase pharmaceuticals needed for the VTH pharmacy.
• Manage pharmacy inventory.
• Oversee financial management for the pharmacy.
• Interact with VTH members, vendors, and suppliers.

Required qualifications

• Previous experience and working knowledge in pharmacy procedures and computerized pharmacy operations.
• Experience with software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
• Ability to maintain financial records.
• Excellent math skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to organize work efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to negotiate and resolve issues and provide information to groups.

Preferred qualifications

• Education and/or training in veterinary pharmacy procedures, pharmacology, biology, and math.
• Experience in purchasing and inventory procedures.
• Human and/or veterinary clinical experience.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).

Pay

Pay Band 3; salary starting at $36,501.00, commensurate with experience. Non‑Exempt: eligible for overtime.

Schedule

40+ hours per week.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
